Travel pillows - indispensable on the road

The development of the transportation network has made traveling accessible. People travel long distances on trains, sail on ferries, and sometimes spend the night in tents. A travel pillow will be a good helper on any route. This small accessory improves blood circulation during sleep. It allows you to have a good rest even while traveling.

Purpose and types

The ideal shape of a travel pillow for the road was suggested by practice. Passengers could not take bulky 70x70 bedding in their luggage. At the same time, they sometimes had to spend the night at the train station or transit zone of Kyiv airports. That's when they started producing travel pillows for traveling - small headrests made of velor, velvet, and calico. There is a resilient filler inside.

Travel pillows in the form of a "bagel" have proven themselves well. They adhere to the neck with a soft ring, forming a support for the head during rest. The advantage of the horseshoe shape is that the head will not tilt back when shaking in the vehicle. Consequently, the neck muscles will remain relaxed. Sometimes a travel pillow for the neck is equipped with a clamp. It is fastened under the chin, prevents the product from slipping, and also serves as a kind of carrying handle.

Pillows for traveling can be inflatable and fabric. They are visually different:

2. A pleasant velvety surface.
3. Moderate height.

The accessory is designed to fit easily into a bag (backpack) and not burden a person with additional weight during a vacation. A neck pillow is indispensable when traveling with children. It's nice to travel or go on a business trip and have the means to have a good rest. To buy a travel pillow and enjoy comfort, you need to choose an accessory in a soft cover with a hypoallergenic filling. Headrests for air travel and land travel are usually made of artificial fabrics: velor, velour, and liner. Fabrics with spandex and polyester additives are harder to tear. And the surface is easy to clean from dirt.

The fillers in a travel pillow are very different. Usually inside the product:

• polyester balls
• latex
• synthetic winterizer
• polyurethane foam;
• memory foam.

The most affordable is a travel pillow made of artificial plush and microgranules. The most expensive is made of natural latex. In Ukraine, velor travel products with memory foam are gaining popularity. Such an accessory reduces the load on the spine and provides orthopedic support for the cervical vertebrae during extreme treks.

Tips for use

Travel sleeping accessories have increased strength and durability. Travel pillows are not always machine washable. But usually, dirt can be easily removed from the surface with a damp sponge. Experienced travelers recommend placing a scarf made of natural fabric. At the end of the road trip, you can wash it - the headrest cover will remain clean.
